- The donor
- A personal representative that lives in the UK
- A personal representative that lives abroad
- An appointed Solicitors or councils (please visit the correct user guide for this)
- A solicitor acting on behalf of an a appointed representative
-
Any other organisation (for example financial advisors, accountants, etc)
We would mainly receive a letter from the requestor and sometimes they will enclose the legal document and / or ID. In order for us to register the POA we will need to send them a 1st Notification letter that will explain the next steps to them.
There are a few things to consider when actioning 1st touch notifications:
-
The correspondence we send out will need to be tailored to the case and you will need to amend the templates we have on file.
-
If an email address is provided in any correspondence received we should be emailing our response as a PDF attachment using the and NOT sending a letter outNote this is sent from our Mailbox.
-
1st touch notifications are cross brand therefore if safeguarding is required, this would apply to ALL brands.
-
If all accounts and products are we do not need to complete a registration and can provide the information that either (a) nothing is held with Lloyds Banking Group, or (b) accounts have been closed. If more specific information is required (e.g. statements) we should not provide this unless we are in receipt of sufficient identification in addition to the legal document.
-
The 1st Notification letter will differ depending on who has sent us the request. Please see the differences below:
